AVID class from WEST OSO ISD goes fishing at Texas Parks and Wildlife!

On Saturday, December 1st, 2018 the AVID 8th grade students from West Oso ISD went to Texas Parks and Wildlife Fish Hatchery.  The students learned about the life cycle and management of fresh and salt water fish.  The group took a tour of the flounder, red drum, and trout tanks, and learned how TPWD breeds millions of fish yearly.  Alex Garcia, Volunteer Coordinator for Fish For Life helped the students to cast their lines and reel in the fish!  Jeanne Keenan, Fish For Life board member, treated the group to an amazing home cooked meal.  Prizes were awarded for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd largest fish!  The largest fish of the day was 33 inches long!
